The ENGINEERING CONSULTANTS

The environmental consultant for the 1st Avenue Revitalization Assessment Demonstration Pilot was selected using a competitive qualifications-based process. Terracon, an Iowa-based corporation, was selected from approximately 30 candidates from across the nation. Terracon brought and applied Brownfields and redevelopment experience developed in Iowa and the Midwestern United States.

Terracon continued a long-standing relationship with another Iowa engineering firm, Howard R. Green Company to provide the Team planning/developmental services and continuity with surrounding municipal projects.

The work was done from local offices by experienced professional staff with contingent support by Terracon's network of more than 50 offices nationwide.

Terracon staff brought to the local project a unique national level of expertise in Brownfields risk-based evaluation and redevelopment. Terracon staff were actively involved the writing and development of many of the state and ASTM standards used in the evaluation of chemical risk at this project site.

Terracon staff, equipment and technical resources are based locally in the Cedar Rapids and Quad Cities offices, located within 20 and 50 miles of the project site, respectively.
